Samsung NVMe SSDs

PM983

PM983 delivers four times the performance of SATA SSDs, using Samsung 3D V-NAND and an optimized Samsung NVMe controller with native PCIe Gen 3.0 x4 host interface that supplies 32GB/s of bandwidth. It is also 1,000 times faster than an SAS HDD in random read/write and three times better performing than a 2.5-inch SAS SSD. PM983 achieves the same low cost per gigabyte as slower SATA SSDs. By providing four times the IOPS per dollar, IT and data center managers are able to scale workload utilization on their servers, decreasing the cost of computing.

PM1725b

Featuring Samsung’s innovative 3D vertical NAND (V-NAND) flash memory and an optimized controller, PM1725b delivers the highest levels of random read speed and ultra-low latency rate. The NVMe protocol was built from the ground up to maximize flash storage performance and minimize latency. It replaces legacy disk-based protocols and uses the PCIe interface to enable higher bandwidth. PM1725b also supports dual-port functionality, enabling high-availability via two access paths to the storage array controller. This feature delivers the reliability, availability, and serviceability (RAS) that is required for enterprise storage designs.
